Overview

The Technical Support Engnineer will be responsible for getting involved with implementations and onsite configurations of the company's analytics software. The Engineer will have a solid support background with good skills supporting and troubleshooting Windows and SQL Servers. Candidates are required to work EVERY weekend as part of this role and the start time is 6:00 am. There is flexibility to spread the hours over 4 days consecutively or non consecutively, as long as it covers Saturday and Sunday.

  • Candidates are required to work EVERY weekend as part of this role and the start time is 6:00 am. There is flexibility to spread the hours over 4 days consecutively or non consecutively, as long as it covers Saturday and Sunday.
  • Provide expert technical support to clients using the company’s analytics software.
  • Install and configure software onsite for clients.Act as the first point of contact for client queries and technical issues.
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately.
  • For existing customers, identify potential issues and proactively support their software.
  • Configure and upgrade Windows Servers and SLQ Servers for optimal performance.
  • Organise software testing prior to implementation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all resources are available for installation work.
  • Apply a flexible approach to work with regards to installation and support work on client sites.
  • Carry out all relevant technical documentation.
  • Train to become an expert with the company’s analytics software.
  • Strive to improve technical knowledge and keep up to date with technology trends.
  • Provide an excellent customer service to clients at all times and act as a professional company representative.

 

Requirements

  • Must be able to work every Saturday and Sunday.
  • Proven experience within a similar support engineer role is necessary.
  • 2+ years’ background in working within a technology company providing technical service for clients.
  • Outstanding technical and analytical abilities are required.
  • Technical certifications in support, installation or administration would be beneficial.
  • Solid skills around Windows Server OS installation.
  • Good troubleshooting and configuration skills around Windows Server.
  • Administration skills of SQL Server.
  • Scripting experience in Batch or PowerShell would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MS IIS and MongoDB would be beneficial.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Linux server administration and configuration.
  • Solid knowledge of networking protocols and experience of troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Good understanding of PC infrastructures.
  • Experience with VMware and Server hardware would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A motivated and driven individual who’s a strong team player but also happy working off own initiative.
