Overview
Our client, one of the UK’s leading utilities specialists is looking for a skilled and ambitious Business Development Manager to join their growing team. As first point of contact for customers and clients, the BDM will carry out key market research to maximise business development potentials, as well as build and maintain lucrative business relationships. Candidates must have proven experience of working for a Managed Services Provider organisation, and good knowledge of the supplier energy market.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Team Managers and clients to maximise business development potentials.
- Build and maintain strong and profitable professional relationships with clients and act as their trusted point of contact.
- Research and understand clients’ needs and translate that into lucrative business opportunities through offering appropriate solutions.
- Liaise with Team Managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process and positive client experience.
- Prepare comprehensive client proposals that are in line with clients’ requirements and needs.
- Work together with clients to address concerns, negotiate terms and close new deals.
- Carry out key industry and market research to stay ahead of competitors and up to date with regulations.
- Reach potential clients by attending networking events and trade shows.
- Manage expectations and project for existing clients, as well as ensuring a smooth transition for new ones.
- Ensure a timely forecasting and reporting of required sales activities, pipeline and revenue.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the supplier energy market would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally.
- Proven experience in a target driven environment, meeting, and overachieving targets.
- Motivated mindset with ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
