The Sales Engineer will provide technical support and consultancy to both the Sales team and end users. As well as taking ownership of and overseeing all technical activities throughout the sales process, the Sales Engineer will ensure that Clients and Customers are provided with sufficient product training to guarantee successful installation and handover. Whilst ensuring that proof of concept and demonstration is carried out both internally and externally, the Sales Engineer will continuously evaluate product suitability to potential new customers. It is highly advantageous to have strong background in the technical field of Data/VoIP/Telephony.
Responsibilities & Requirements
With regards to UCaaS deployment and migration to Digital transformation, provide a consultation level service to customers.
During onsite sales calls, offer technical assistance to the sales team.
Taking a ‘hands-on’ approach, provide pre-sales technical support.
During first time installation of new products, provide technical support to partners and customers.
Be the main point of call for pre-sales technical knowledge to the channel or partner, whilst passing on relevant knowledge to the partners.
Explore and evaluate the products and services are technically fit for purpose against the customers’ requirements.
In-depth product setup knowledge is required to effectively deliver hands-on product demonstrations and presentations.
During the pre-sales phase, provide product training to customers.
Lead RFP’s/RFI technical responses
Attend regional marketing events to provide technical assistance.
Oversee and take ownership of interoperability tests for systems, being the central point between the customer/carrier and the product manage / business line.
Support CPE interoperability tests between carrier and the company in this region.
Take a lead on Proof of Concept activities in the region.
Engineering or university Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or similar education.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Unified Comms and UCaaS
Excellent experience with regards to VoIP, including SIP, SBC and IP-PBX
Previously worked with a range of public cloud services, such as MS Teams, Zoom, Amazon Chime, AWS and Azure Communication Services.
Highly advantageous having experience in Microsoft-based solutions, selling to enterprise IT groups. This includes projects deployments and managed services.
Demonstrable knowledge in Contact Centre solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Digital Transformation.
A deep understanding of the technical component in the sales process.
Must be a team-player and able to work well in a multinational environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact with customers, partners and prospects effectively.
Able to deliver presentations efficiently.
Must be fluent in English and Dutch
Must have a willingness to travel occasionally throughout the region to visit customers and partners.
