Our Client is looking for a motivated and dynamic 2nd Line Engineer to join their growing team within the Bristol area, to provide outstanding infrastructure support to the company's customers. As well as monitoring customer systems daily, the 2nd Line Support Engineer will carry out system and software upgrades, maintenance and fixes. Applicants must have a proven track record within a support engineering role within a customer focused IT organization.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Monitor and carry out daily checks on customers’ systems using a number of tools.
Provide Second Line support to the company’s customers and internal teams.
Coordinate and manage all incidents and service requests in line with internal procedure.
Provide internal development teams with assistance in identifying and resolving issues.
Keep in touch with external vendors to identify and log faults when needed.
Analyse log files and investigate faults across multiple software applications.
Carry out key upgrades and general maintenance on systems and software.
Assist relevant teams with delivering customer projects.
Carry out testing and manage fixes into customers live systems.
Work closely with engineering teams to provide support with internal projects.
Proven experience of providing support within a customer focused IT organization.
Excellent Network skills, including Cisco, SonicWALL and Dell.
Good technical knowledge of Active Directory and VMware.
Experience with Scripting and Automation.
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
Successful track record providing Second Line support.
Ability to analyse log files.
Strong team player with ability to also work on own initiative.
