Overview

This is a Home Based position, based in South Africa. The Business Development Manager will maintain positive working relationships within South Africa with MNOs. As well as reviewing and analysing the financial effects of new opportunities, the BDM will carry out pricing whilst ensuring that the budgeting is maintained at all times. The Business Development Manager will ensure the smooth launch of services and will take ownership of managing internal and external technical resource demands. The ideal Candidate will have strong knowledge and experience of working with Mobile Network Operators and will have a proven background in business development and project management.


Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Carry out account, project and business development responsibilities within base country, directly managing relationships for all Mobile Network Operators.
  • Work on building new relationships within other local regions and leading implementation of new Fraud Protection procedures.
  • Review and analyse the financial impact and cost effectiveness of potential new opportunities.
  • Match customers’ requirements to the most suitable solutions.
  • Work out pricing and ensure that realistic budget is set and continuously maintained.
  • Lead the negotiation of new accounts and agree on contract terms.
  • Work closely with the in-house team to oversee and manage all service launches and performance.
  • Liaise with teams from various countries to ensure smooth service roll outs.
  • Take ownership of the management of internal and external technical resources.
  • Ensure that the company is meeting contract terms and is compliant with internal and external policies.
  • Regularly report on financial and business performance.
  • Ensure that stakeholders and partners are aware of development strategies and key milestones.

 

Requirements

  • Good all-around knowledge and experience of working with Mobile Operators.
  • Proven background in business development and project management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local market and its requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a can-do attitude.
  • The ability to make sound and positive business decisions.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • The ability to think outside of the box and using own initiative.
