Support Engineer

Our client, a successful Customer Analytics Software company, are searching for a Support Engineer to join their team based in Nottingham. The Support Engineer will be required to troubleshoot issues efficiently and methodically, whilst frequently communicating with customers to ensure they get the most of out of their solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise, problem research and will work with different applications, infrastructures and platforms to guide customers through corrective steps. A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience is required for this position and ideally will have a degree in Computer Science or similar.

Responsibilities & Requirements


  • Troubleshoot ecosystem issues methodically and efficiently.
  • Identify problems, find appropriate solutions and guide customers through the steps to correct these problems.
  • Offer technical expert advice and ownership of solutions.
  • Write and maintain documentation to improve troubleshooting materials.
  • Promote and adhere to best practices.
  • In line with company policies and procedures, security and confidentiality of data/information must be strictly followed.
  • Take a dynamic approach to finding timely solutions to customer questions and requests, utilising different application, infrastructure and database technologies.
  • Work closely with other colleagues and teams to help streamline and develop our ecosystem.
  • Within the service level agreement boundaries, manage customer cases.



  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the industry, including software, hardware and application support.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or similar.
  • Proven experience of troubleshooting enterprise level .NET applications and/or working in a supporting role is essential.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills.
  • Recommended: Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2016 basic administration and usage, and SQL jobs.
  • Recommended: Windows Server 2012, and 2016 OS installation, customization, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Web application support experience is highly advantageous.
  • Able to successfully work within a widely distributed team, including colleagues overseas.
