This is a 12-month fixed term contract. The Security Network Engineer will be based on site providign BAU support and occasional elements of project work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the network and telecoms infrastructure with a focus on security ensuring the network is secure and providing installation and maintenance as required. The ideal candidate will be CCNP or working at CCNP level with at least 5 years’ experience in a Cisco environment.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the management of Security, Network and Telecoms Infrastructure.
Responsible for adhering to SLA’s and purchasing, testing and installing equipment and software to achieve this.
Maintain documentation and systems, regularly carrying out security backups as required.
Analyse and develop any requirements for the network to ensure compatibility with the existing infrastructure.
Plan and implement development to manage and improve security systems (firewalls, network and load balancing).
Prepare strategy, budgets and plans to assist the team leader in developing the infrastructure.
Liaise with third parties to ensure service level agreements are met.
Manage disaster recovery solutions and monitor all platforms for alerts.
Project delivery to timescales agreed.
Ensure preventative measures are upheld to stop any unauthorised access on equipment, software and network.
Reporting of any breaches, using reporting tools to monitor any breaches.
Minimum 5 years’ experience
CCNP qualified or working to CCNP levels
Knowledge of VPN, LAN, WAN, VoIP and Qos
Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls, IDS and IPS experience.
Experience of DNS, SSL and Domains.
Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (EIGRP)
Experience of maintaining IP Load Balancing devices
Knowledge of Security Best Practice
